Finally Brunettes Rejoice. Rainbow Hair Developed By The Famous Aura Freidman Specifically For Brunettes.
The ‘oil slick hair‘ look was developed by New York-based colorist Aura Friedman earlier this year to jazz up darker hair without bleach.
This gorgeous new hair trend sees rainbow stripes used to give brunettes an ‘oil slick’ look. The process uses deep layered tones of iridescent blue, green and purple the exact colors, that when looked at closely, appear in oil or petrol. These specific colors require less bleach to replicate, therefore, leaving hair in much better condition. The colors also last longer and look better on brunettes.
Rainbow hair has been around for some time but it really only applied to blondes as brunettes were too dark for the real effect to be seen. There has been many attempts to create a similar look for darker haired women but it required a lot of bleach and caused too much damage. Rainbow hair, or oil slick hair, has changed that and Brunettes are jumping on board and fast. With Rainbow hair being featured everywhere on social media it’s refreshing to see a trend specifically pointed at the Brunettes instead of Blondes having all the fun.
